Education

Education

Brahmanand’s main mission is education. It started in 2000 when the seeds were sown with the first building being constructed as a boarding house in Brahmanand Vidya Mandir. The plan was to build one building at a time as there was no ready funding available. Soon a donor for the school was found and construction began in 2000 and finished in 2001. After that, construction of one building after another continued as donors were sought and found and soon there were just under 2000 children studying in Brahmanand Vidya Campus.

What started off as a small project grew organically due to the demand for good education.

All the education projects are run under Bhagvatinandji Education Trust (BET). Since then, BET has established 4 educational centres of excellence in Gujarat, as well as the holistic Anand Dhara village development project. These are in line with the mission’s core objectives for education:

  • To provide educational opportunities to orphaned children or children from one-parent families.
  • To provide educational opportunities for boys and girls from the rural area at an affordable cost.
  • To develop young people who can become leaders of tomorrow and who have a positive attitude to life i.e. they are disciplined, hard-working and have good moral values.
  • To develop individuals who work for the whole of humanity.
  • To provide education for the 21st century with the appropriate use of computers and other new technology.
  • To establish centres of excellence in education which can be used as resource centres by other local schools and teachers.
