For Environment
An environment teaching programme has been developed with the help of the mobile van. Through this initiative, one of the programme has been to encourage all villagers to plant trees, as cutting trees without planting new ones in place has created and continues to create great ecological hardship and destruction. Additionally, whenever Pujya Muktanandji visits any village, he advises the villagers to plant trees on special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, festivals and so on and to be done almost as a new age tradition.
Another programme gives weightage to conserving water. Awareness to save water is spread through various exhibitions, and the conscious use of water in the villages is promoted. There is also a drive to systemize drainage system and if possible, means are adopted through which water can be re-used whenever possible.
Rainwater harvesting is also taken up extensively. Recently a project was successfully completed in which a dry area was transformed into a reservoir by means of excavation. The surrounding water bodies were funneled in and the rainwater was harvested here. Abstention from environmental pollutants is also encouraged.
Another programme encourages use of solar energy for electrical purposes and a solar kitchen is also shown as an example for the villagers to adopt.
Through this initiative, several village groups have got together with Anand Dhara representatives to clean their village and then educated on how to manage the waste by recycling or destroying it. In all the schools, a programme has been developed to beautify the school environment with flowers and plants and encourage birds to come.
